Will Shri Narendra Modi & Dr. Subramanian Swamy Bite the Bullet?
Criminals and corrupt people laugh at the current “Rule of Law”, except the ones Dr. Subramanian Swamy has in focus.
Things were not always so. Not too long ago it was law of the land that the corrupt were hung on poles at city squares in India. This law was meticulously followed in Vijaynagar Empire in Southern India. It was the Golden Age of India. The corrupt still had rights: right to be hung on the nearest pole. Interestingly the officer who appointed the corrupt person was also hung by his side and killed by arrows. Just to ensure that one does not appoint a corrupt person to a public office. This made Vijaynagar Empire, and India, the richest nation in the world at that time. The average Indian was happy, content and rich. India accounted for one third of the World GDP. Times were good and arts, agriculture, trade, industry and exports thrived. People were nice and gentle to each other. Children did not die of starvation.
Then came British East India Company and one of its many minions, Macaulay. Macaulay is infamous for destroying the traditional Indian education system, a system which has been described as “A Beautiful Tree” by Shri Dharampal who has done an excellent work in compiling and thus preserving records of the traditional system from all over India, England and other parts of the world.
The second big damage Macaulay inflicted was laying groundwork for uprooting the Indian law of the land, and pushing introduction of a new system, known as British “Rule of Law”. He was also instrumental in preparation of “Indian” Penal Code, which got enforced immediately after First War of Independence of 1857. The so called “Rule of Law” is still alien to the people of India, cumbersome, tortuous, consuming endless time and money: witness the three crore cases pending in courts. Assuming an average family of five, and two parties to each case, almost one fourth of Indian population is afflicted by this “Rule of Law” directly, and the entire nation indirectly. Not that it is helping business. India was the biggest commercial power in the world for over 2500 years without these 40,000 “Laws”.
Now, that a new Government is coming in after the 2104 Elections, both Shri Narendra Modi and Dr. Subramanian Swamy are entirely capable of bringing back the original Indian laws and systems: simple, fair and prompt.
The only question is. “Will Shri Narendra Modi & Dr. Subramanian Swamy bite the bullet?”
