India to Hit Big League
The BJP has set an ambitious target to achieve annual GDP Growth of over 12 per cent per annum for India once it gets into Central Government in 2014. It plans to pursue “more vigorous market-centric economic reforms” and to break free from inter-State economic barriers to create a national market by removing irrational restrictions like sales tax in impediments in inter-State movements.
The party plans to free citizens of India from income tax if their income is below Rs. 12 lakhs per year. All savings would be “tax-deductible” The recommendations form the BJP’s Vision 2020 that plans to completely dismantle the existing model of planning launch ‘aggressive market economy’, particularly at the State levels.
The Sub-committee on the Vision 2020 met on February 13 at the residence of former BJP president Nitin Gadkari. The meet was attended Shri Subramanian Swamy, representatives from ‘Aarth Kranti”, an independent economic think tank and RSS thinkers. Gadkari is heading the Committee on Vision 2020 which will be released ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
